Governed access to trusted medical evidence, built for machines.

Content Gateway gives licensed partners and AI agents search, retrieval and grounded answers over BMJ content, with every request tied to a versioned access agreement.

How access works

Every API key is scoped by a customer agreement, which starts from an access package.

Access packageA reusable starting point: which content, which operations, which connection methods and limits.
Customer agreementThe versioned contract for one customer. Changing access creates a new version.
API keyIssued under an agreement. A key can only narrow that access, never widen it.

Public API at a glance

Customer applications authenticate with an API key issued by BMJ. Full documentation.

Research prototype. Built by BMJ using content from BMJ’s open corpus. It is not a live BMJ product, and interfaces may change.
